FoodLogiQ is thrilled to announce the capture of over 100 million Critical Tracking Events (CTEs) on the FoodLogiQ Connect platform. This accomplishment is a significant milestone that reflects the impact of tech-enabled traceability, transparency and interoperability throughout a digitized supply chain. Additionally, it showcases the achievements of our customers’ diligence in establishing distinguished traceability programs, as well as the ongoing collaboration and partnership that continues to support their efforts.
Over the past year, the number of Critical Tracking Events hosted within FoodLogiQ Connect has doubled, increasing from approximately 50 million CTEs at the end of 2020. Throughout 2021, FoodLogiQ has partnered with many more food brands in modernizing their supply chains, the impacts of which are directly reflected in the Connect platform. To date, Connect supports approximately 114,000 brand and supplier locations, including nearly 32,000 international supplier locations across a vast 134 countries. Thousands of suppliers already onboarded and collaborating within Connect have shared over 334,000 documents, participated in approximately 40,000 automated workflows, and aided in the resolution of over 1 million quality incidents. And these numbers continue to grow daily.
The capture and support of more than 100 million CTEs would not have been possible without the hard work of the thousands of suppliers, distributors and partnering food brands collaborating within Connect. Collectively, their efforts have been integral in supporting, linking, and resolving issues within a connected food supply chain and understanding the movement of products throughout it. Leading brands like sweetgreen and Chipotle Mexican Grill have leveraged FoodLogiQ’s Track + Trace solution to build tech-enabled traceability programs and enhance safety and visibility within their supply chain.
As expressed by Chipotle Senior Manager of Supply Chain Amber Engebretson, “Our ability to track ingredients from supplier to restaurant, at the lot code level, is a powerful tool supplementing our already amazing food safety program. It helps ensure that we can research and act on food safety and quality concerns quickly, thoroughly, and know where particular ingredients are at a given time, as well as where they have been.”
FoodLogiQ’s achievement comes at a pivotal time when the industry is preparing to introduce proposed traceability regulation known as the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) section 204 rule. With less than a year until rule finalization, it’s critical for food businesses and supply chain partners to understand what steps are necessary to ensure readiness now and where to focus efforts moving forward. The pending traceability rule enhancements are set to lay a foundation for standardized data elements that need to be captured and recorded at various Critical Tracking Events, from growing to shipping, transforming, receiving and more. Additionally, the proposed FSMA section 204 rule forms part of the FDA’s New Era of Smarter Food Safety initiative, geared towards advancing modern, technology-driven approaches to food safety leadership.
“With enhanced, technology-driven data management and automation, we can greatly increase the amount of data about the supply chain, action food safety issues quicker and with more precision, reduce food waste and build more transparency between trading partners and end consumers,” said FoodLogiQ Vice President of Supply Chain Strategy and Insights Julie McGill. In FoodLogiQ’s recent response to the FDA’s request for comments on the New Era of Smarter Food Safety Summit on E-Commerce, McGill added, “Resilient supply chains must focus on the adoption of technology to bring automation, integrity and data management solutions to supply chain traceability.”
Since its inception, FoodLogiQ has acted as a key stakeholder in industry-led projects, pilots and traceability-driven proofs of concept. FoodLogiQ recently joined other leading organizations to complete a landmark traceability pilot that confirms the critical role standards play in building an interoperable supply chain and tech-enabled visibility. Led by GS1 US, the pilot centered on the seafood industry and the advancement of supply chain digitization and interoperability. In addition, this proof of concept aimed to support preparatory methods for pending traceability requirements. For more information on the pilot and its conclusive results, visit the GS1 website.
As the leading SaaS provider of food safety compliance, traceability, recall management and supply chain transparency solutions, FoodLogiQ looks forward to participating in future industry-led research, standards-based pilots and traceability projects. With over 100 million CTEs hosted on the Connect platform, FoodLogiQ also eagerly anticipates reaching future traceability milestones – and continuing to support the traceability programs of some of the world’s leading food and beverage brands.
