Genesis Foods 2025 Q2 Release: Empowering Smarter, Faster Recipe and Label Management

With the Q2 release, Genesis Foods introduces a suite of upgrades that streamline label creation, enhance collaboration, and give food professionals more control over ingredient data and tools for meeting labeling compliance regulations. Each feature was designed with real workflows in mind—helping teams stay ahead of regulatory shifts and get to market faster.

    Preview Labels on Draft Recipes

The new Preview Labels feature gives users the power to visualize label output before recipes are finalized. Whether you're testing multiple formulations or comparing versions for regulatory compliance, seeing draft labels with a watermark allows your team to align on the best version before final approval. You can also generate packaging reports with the same "draft" watermark, keeping draft copies easily identifiable.

This is especially useful for cross-functional teams juggling product development, marketing, and compliance reviews. With visual previews now available at the draft stage and clear markings indicating the label's draft status, everyone can weigh in early without the concern of inadvertently using a draft label in final packaging.

    Deeper Insight Into Formulations

Now, Genesis displays percent weight data for all ingredients directly on the Recipe page and within the Ingredient & Nutrient Analysis Report.

This small but significant enhancement supports more accurate nutritional profiling, especially when making minor adjustments to formulations. It’s also a valuable tool for QA teams reviewing product specs for label claim verification.

Access Groups for Better Data Controls

Managing access to proprietary recipes and sensitive ingredient data is simpler with the new Access Groups functionality. Admins can now control which users can view or edit specific ingredients and recipes. Items can be added manually or in bulk using Advanced Search—ideal for large teams or organizations with segmented responsibilities across brands, departments, or product lines.

Find and Replace for Faster Reformulation at Scale

Genesis now includes a Find and Replace tool to help users swap out ingredients or sub-recipes across all versions of current formulations.

With side-by-side comparisons and built-in allergen flagging, teams can evaluate changes quickly and apply them in just a few clicks. This helps reduce human error, speeds up regulatory checks, and supports faster turnaround when sourcing shifts or recalls demand immediate action.

AskReg Alerts: Banned or Restricted Additives

With AskReg now monitoring for banned or restricted food additives, food safety and regulatory teams can spot risks before they become liabilities. When enabled, AskReg scans your ingredient database and flags any additives that are restricted by the selected authority. The alerts appear directly on the dashboard and ingredient pages, with deep links to supporting documentation.
