This quarter’s Genesis Foods updates give teams more control over how they formulate, review, and manage product information. We've introduced new ways to customize recipe views, organize nutrient reporting, manage allergens, and clean up product data more efficiently. These updates are designed to reduce repetitive tasks and make everyday workflows easier to manage across formulation, nutrition, and labeling teams.
Formulation work is easier when users can quickly see the information that matters to their process.
Different teams rely on different details, and a fixed table layout can make it harder to focus on the fields that are most relevant to a specific project. Giving users more control over their workspace can reduce visual clutter and make recipe review more efficient.
Genesis Foods now lets users customize the columns displayed in the Recipe Formulation table. Users can choose which columns appear and rearrange them in the order that works best for their process. For example, a team that does not use Trustwell Database Ingredients can hide the Item Code column. A formulator who regularly needs to see when an item was last modified can move that information closer to the ingredient name.

New bulk actions in Genesis Foods make it possible to manage groups of records at once. Users can filter a dashboard to identify a set of records and then take action on eligible items together. Approved or in-use items can be archived in bulk, while draft items can be deleted in bulk.
Genesis Foods also applies the appropriate status rules when an action is selected. For example, when a user chooses to delete records from a filtered group containing both draft and approved items, the system narrows the action to eligible draft records.
Nutrition teams often focus on different nutrients depending on the product, project, or internal goals. When important nutrients are buried within a longer list, review can take more time than necessary. Organizing nutrients around the way a team actually works can make reports easier to scan and help users focus on the values they need to review first.
The September release expands the Nutrients to View functionality so users can reorder custom nutrient lists based on their needs.
When a nutrient is moved, Genesis Foods automatically renumbers the list, and that order carries into reports that use the selected Nutrients to View list. The updated interface also includes collapse and expand functionality to make larger nutrient lists easier to work with.
Teams may also need different options for communicating precautionary allergen information depending on the product and market.
More flexibility in how that information is managed can help regulatory and labeling teams prepare statements that better align with their needs. The 2026 Q3 release adds new options for managing precautionary allergen information in Genesis Foods.
Genesis Foods already carries “Contains” allergens from the ingredient level into the recipe allergen statement. With
At the ingredient level, users can select the parent allergen for a “May Contain” statement. At the recipe level, users can also choose to use precautionary allergen labeling, or PAL, in place of “May Contain,” depending on the applicable authority.
Users can also select the parent allergen when configuring this information. These settings are managed within Program Settings.
