Safer Food, Stronger Connections: Trustwell's 2025 in Review

2025 was arguably eventful for the food industry. Trade and traceability news dominated headlines, front-of-pack labeling stayed front-of-mind, and we entered the era of The Great Reformulation, and that was just the first half! What didn't change is that the food industry doesn't stand still — and neither do we.

Throughout the year we worked closely with our customers to help them adapt, grow, and stay ahead of it all. We launched new tools, strengthened our platform, and made it easier for teams everywhere to access data for better decision-making and insights for big innovations. We added our voice to the conversations unfolding on industry stages, received recognition from our peers, and deepened our relationship with our customers.

From behind the scenes platform improvements to the thought leadership that took canter stage, 2025 was a year of progress we're proud to share. Here are the highlights:

Moments That Measured Up: 2025 by the Numbers

Trustwell's impact continues to grow in scope and scale. The data captured across our platform tells a story of real-2025 by the Numbersworld progress and powerful outcomes for our customers. Here’s a snapshot of what that looked like in 2025:

    • Trustwell recorded 58 million Critical Tracking Events (CTEs) in 2025 alone, contributing to a running total of 310 million
    • We helped capture 905,000 quality incidents this year, bringing our all-time total to 2.87 million.

    • Users added nearly 16,500 new ingredients to Genesis Foods to support formulation, innovation, and compliance

    • More than 18,900 new recipes were created, fueling R&D and new product development

    • Teams generated about 30,000 new labels using Genesis Foods to meet regulatory and consumer demands

    • We added 5,500 new partner businesses and connected 45,600 in total

    • Customers created 259,000 new documents in 2025, adding to a total document volume of more than 786,000

Each of these data points represents meaningful action: a quality issue identified, a compliant label generated, a product reformulated, or business we are proud to partner with. Collectively, they reflect the measurable impact of our platform and our shared commitment to a safer, smarter food system.

Trustwell Connect: Smarter Tools, Stronger Outcomes

This year, we focused on building tools that help customers work more efficiently, respond more quickly, and make better-informed decisions. Our product and engineering teams collaborated closely with our users to understand their day-to-day needs and deliver updates that removed friction, added clarity, and brought more value to every interaction with the platform. From compliance automation to intuitive dashboards, these enhancements reflect our commitment to practical innovation.

    Genesis Foods in 2025

    1.  Allergen Origins Identification + A More Intelligent AskReg

Allergen Origins Identification in Genesis Foods helps users identify potential allergen risks faster and with more confidence. Using natural language processing and machine learning, the feature analyzes ingredient statements and flags undeclared allergens, giving R&D teams greater assurance before a product hits the shelf.

Users could also see allergen suggestions from within Genesis Foods from AskReg, our AI-powered regulatory assistant. AskReg also became more widely available in 2025 and is now offered as a standalone product. Users can ask questions in plain language and receive accurate, citation-backed regulatory responses for U.S., Canadian, and global food labeling standards.

    2. Canada FOP Labeling

We added expanded support for non-U.S. markets this year, including for the new front-of-pack (FOP) nutrition symbol regulations in Canada. This update allows food manufacturers to stay compliant with Health Canada’s requirements and build consumer trust through transparent labeling. The Trustwell nutrition team also added thousands of verified French language ingredients for bilingual label formats users can be confident in.

    3. Food Comparison Report

Diehard fans of the Menu Label Report in Genesis Classic will want to check out the reimagined and more robust Food Comparison Report in Genesis Foods. It gives users the ability to compare up to five recipe versions side-by-side, highlighting changes in nutrition, ingredients, allergens, and costs.

This tool is especially useful for R&D, QA, and marketing teams who want to understand how product modifications affect compliance and consumer-facing information.

    FoodLogiQ in 2025

    1. Food Traceability Operator Dashboard

FoodLogiQ also saw major upgrades and updates in 2025, including a new Traceability Operator Dashboard that gives supply chain teams a clearer, more actionable view of critical tracking events. Built with FSMA 204 in mind, the dashboard enables even partners with limited visibility into the broader supply chain to access and share Critical Tracking Event (CTE) data. It supports the "one step forward, one step back" traceability requirement in a secure, read-only environment.

Digital Download: The Ultimate Guide to FSMA 204 Compliance

This interface allows operators to view only their own CTE-related data, without editing capabilities or exposure to unrelated records to help partners participate in traceability workflows with clarity, especially during FDA investigations or at the request of retailers. Beyond data access, the dashboard includes curated support materials: FSMA 204 compliance guides, live FDA updates via RSS feed, and Trustwell's resource library.

    2. Expanded & Improved Mobile Experience for FoodLogiQ Recall

FoodLogiQ Recall is now accessible on mobile, giving teams the ability to act quickly no matter where they are with an experience designed to be efficient and easy to use thanks to:

    • A new withdrawals view: instantly see active recall events and identify which withdrawals require action.
    • Photos and attachments: add images and documents to recall responses to provide visual confirmation of product removal and strengthen compliance documentation.
    • Push notifications: automatically alert teams to new recall events and prompt timely response.
    • Offline mode: capture recall responses accurately in low-connectivity environments, with data automatically syncing once connectivity is restored.
